The name nods to the industrial history of Southwest Michigan, when towns like Buchanan, Niles, New Buffalo, and Sawyer were spaced roughly seven miles apart — the distance a steam engine could travel before needing to refuel. The seven also reflects the Potawatomi people’s Seven Grandfathers’ teachings: Wisdom, Respect, Love, Honesty, Humility, Bravery, and Truth. These are the values we try to carry into how we grow, who we hire, and how we serve every customer who comes through the door.
